Participants must have a masters degree or above in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field. Graduate students in these fields may attend if they are at a point in their training where they are allowed to provide therapy to clients and are under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional.
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training is for practitioners who want to expand their knowledge and skills when working with youth (3 to 18 years old) with identified trauma. Upon completion of the TF-CBT 3 day training, practitioners will be able to assess trauma symptoms, identify appropriate clients for the model, and learn how to address trauma symptoms. Practitioners are required to participate in at least 9 out of 12 consultation calls with the trainer. Practitioners will receive a CE certificate with a total of 12 CE hours after completion of the 3 day training.
Training Date: June 8-10, 2022 (Wednesday through Friday)
Time: Virtual training will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST each day (no lunch scheduled; two short breaks will occur)
Prerequisites for training:
1). TF-CBT online training certificate must be completed prior to training and submitted to training@advocacyandtraining.org. TF-CBT online training can be found at https://tfcbt2.musc.edu/ at a $35 cost.
2). All practitioners will need to complete a “Pre-survey” prior to training.
